Rail-Flow Track Alignment System
Build Better Track with Rail-Flow Systems.
Rail-Flow Track Alignment Guides from Oak Hill Model Railroad Track Supply are precision tools designed to help modelers create smoother, more consistent trackwork with less measuring, less guesswork, and fewer alignment problems.
Precision laser-cut from 2mm Baltic birch plywood, Rail-Flow Guides help establish and maintain track alignment while you work. Built-in centerline slots allow the guides to follow a marked track centerline, while access openings provide room for spiking, soldering, fastening, and securing track.
Rail-Flow can be used with commercial flex track or handlaid track and is useful during planning, construction, correction, and final installation.
Straight & Curved Track Alignment
Rail-Flow is available in both straight guides and a wide selection of curved radii, allowing modelers to build smooth, consistent trackwork throughout a layout.
Curved Rail-Flow Guides help maintain a constant radius and reduce the small kinks, flat spots, and irregularities that can occur when flex track is formed by hand.
Straight Rail-Flow Guides are equally useful for establishing long tangent track and for correcting flex track that has developed unwanted bends or curves.
More Than a Track-Laying Guide
Rail-Flow can be used throughout the entire track-building process.
Laying New Track
Use Rail-Flow to establish straight track, form consistent curves, position track over a centerline, and maintain alignment while flex track or handlaid rail is being installed.
The guides help prevent sudden changes in curvature and small alignment errors that can become noticeable once trains are running.
Correcting Existing Track
Rail-Flow can also be used as a track-correction tool.
Straight guides can help remove unwanted bends from flex track, while curved guides can identify and correct inconsistent curvature, small kinks, and alignment problems.
Rail-Flow can also hold corrected track in position while adhesive dries or while the track is permanently fastened.
Handlaid Track
For handlaid track, Rail-Flow provides a consistent reference for positioning and aligning rail while spiking, soldering, or fastening it in place.
Straight and curved guides help maintain smooth rail alignment without repeatedly measuring the track as construction progresses.
Parallel Track & Track Spacing
Rail-Flow spacing tools connect directly to the guides to maintain consistent parallel track spacing from 1.25" to 5".
They are ideal for double-track mainlines, yard tracks, industrial sidings, staging tracks, and other multiple-track applications.
Interlocking tabs, mounting holes, screws, and wing nuts allow multiple guides and spacing tools to be connected without repeatedly measuring track centers.
Track Planning & Layout
Rail-Flow is also useful before track is permanently installed.
Place a guide directly on the benchwork to visualize a proposed track alignment, test whether a particular radius will fit an area, establish a centerline, or determine how track will flow around structures, scenery, and other layout features.
This allows track geometry to be evaluated before anything is glued or permanently fastened.
Troubleshooting Trackwork
Rail-Flow provides a simple way to check existing track geometry and identify alignment problems that can be difficult to see by eye.
Use Rail-Flow to check supposedly straight track for unwanted bends, curves for inconsistent radius, flex-track joints for small kinks, transitions between adjacent sections of track, and existing track that may be contributing to poor operation or derailments.
NEW – 36" HO Rail-Flow Guides
For modelers working on longer sections of track, Rail-Flow is now available in a full 36-inch guide.
The new 36" guides provide three feet of continuous alignment with a single tool. They are especially useful for long mainline runs, broad sweeping curves, yard and staging tracks, correcting bowed or bent flex track, holding longer sections of track in position while adhesive cures, maintaining alignment across multiple sections of flex track, and reducing the number of shorter guides that need to be connected.
The 36" Rail-Flow Guides are sold individually and are available in both Straight and Curved versions.
36" Rail-Flow Guides are currently available in HO scale only.
Designed for the Way You Build
Rail-Flow Guides can be used with commercial flex track and handlaid track for straight and curved track construction, track repair and realignment, holding track while adhesive cures, parallel track construction, mainlines, yards, sidings and staging, layout planning and centerline alignment, checking existing track geometry, and troubleshooting alignment problems.
Rail-Flow products are available in HO, N, and HOn3, with product availability and options varying by scale.
