PC ties are made of fiberglass with a thin layer of copper on each side used for hand laid track. Our PC ties are 12 inches long. This eliminates a lot of waste compared to buying pc ties that are just under 3 inches long. PC ties are very easy to gap. The preferred method is using a 0.009" cut off disc on a Dremel, but small file can be used. PC ties are used to hold rail in gauge. Oak Hill track drawings use the minimal amount of pc ties.

When painted and ballasted, the PC ties disappear for beautiful and prototypical looking track work thanks to track designs based off of prototype track drawings.
