Prefer a traditional approach? Kits with individual wood ties are still available for modelers who enjoy classic construction methods. With the laser-cut tie bases, building straight track takes just a fraction of the time compared to laying individual wood ties.
Four Tie Spacing Designs to Match Prototype Use:
Heavy Freight – Designed for mainlines carrying heavy freight and fast passenger traffic. • Tie spacing: 19 7/9" apart
Medium Freight – Ideal for secondary mains with moderate freight and passenger traffic. • Tie spacing: 22 1/4" apart
Light (Branchline) Freight – Suited for light-duty mains, branches, and running sidings. • Tie spacing: 25 3/4" apart
Yard/Industry – For yards, storage tracks, and industrial sidings. • Tie spacing: 27 2/3" apart
